Ade Oni Wiper🫶❤️
Saw this old poem from 2022, decided to share.
Ade Oni Wiper…
Born and dumped in the slum by his own mother,
Egbon Ade lived and bred by the gutter
A day not wiping the cars
Meant ten days with no food in the bars
His thinness was equal to his bulging tummy
and one day, when it led him to divulge,
he was burnt in the throes of
Jungle justice's clutch
And what about Sister Chika
With the upfront knickers?
Raised the eldest of 5 strong brews,
Selling her body was all she ever knew
No dues from the late night outs
meant no food on the table's lounge
No clients on the roadside streets
meant no money for her siblings' fees—
Until one day,
Sister Chika's battered body
Became food for the graveyard study
Show me a nation
without a thousand Ades
and I will give you another
with a million Chikas
Show me a balanced society
And i will show you 7 billion too many
Where the rich get richer
and the poor poorer
With no one the wiser
and none the carer!
I will show you a generation
where the youths live and breed
with the dirt of the earth
Where the leaders of a new era thrive and die
the Unsung citizens of Every Nation
